Ruth Whippman is a British journalist, cultural commentator and author living in the United States. Her work appears regularly in the New York Times, The Guardian, Time magazine and the Huffington Post amongst many other publications, and she has produced and directed several documentaries for BBC television including contributing films to various BAFTA award winning series. She is the author of the book, America the Anxious, How Our Pursuit of Happiness is Creating a Nation of Nervous Wrecks, which was named a New York Post best book of 2016, a New York Times Editors’ Choice, a Daily Mail Must Read and a Sunday Times Top Summer Read. She is a regular commentator and contributor to radio, television and podcasts. She lives in Berkeley, California with her husband and three sons.
